The Mystic Hills area of Laguna Beach is one of my favorite areas with beautiful luxury homes that grace the hillside that sits directly above the downtown area. Some of the first homes in this area were built in the mid 1920's and offered prime views of the valley and ocean. In the 1960's we saw a big spike in the number of properties being built in this prime location and new construction continues to this day as Mystic Hills is considered one of the top areas to live.
The community is non-gated and and located approximately 10 minutes to the beach. It adjoins the Park Avenue Estates and Top of the World communities and sits directly across the valley from the upscale Temple Hills community. Lower Mystic Hills homes offer quick access to the Laguna Beach High School which is located next to this community. It's also an easy drive down to Coast Highway where the various art galleries, restaurants and shopping can be found.
Homes in this area will vary a lot in size to smaller beach bungalows that were built in the 1960's that offer anywhere from 1,500 to 3,000 square foot homes. These homes are currently priced in the $2 to $2.5 million dollar range. Newer construction homes that have been built in the last 15 years are much large and currently run 3,300 to nearly 8,000 square feet and priced from $2,895,000 to $6,995,000. Prices will also vary depending on the size, location and view of the home.
Architecturally you will find a nice mixture of Cape Cod, Mediterranean and Contemporary homes that are built into this gentle hillside area. For those looking for a nice ocean view property near the downtown area it's always recommend to look in the this area. The views include the Pacific Ocean, Catalina Island, San Clemente Island and great coastline and city views. For those who love to hike will enjoy the multiple hiking and walking trails that are connected to this community. Below are the current ocean view homes for sale in the Mystic Hills community.
