The 2020 year has almost come to an end and it's been a year like no other.  With all the ups and downs to everything that has happened this year the Laguna Beach Real Estate market continued to have a strong pool of buyers who were ready to make a purchase this year.  Although we have seen much higher sales in previous years there were still many homes in Laguna Beach that sold for over $10 million dollars which is amazing considering what 2020 has thrown at us.  There were actually two properties that sold for the exact same amount so we have included the top 4 sales this year.

2661 Victoria Drive was one of the third highest sales that occurred in Laguna Beach this year and was truly an amazing home.  The three level property sold for $12,500,0000 on 8/31/20 and featured an approximate 6,500 square feet of living space according to our multiple listing service.  What impressed me about this house was the quality of finishes found throughout the home.  It really showed that the owner understood the importance of using top of the line finishes and appliances which included custom cabinetry, lighting, window treatments and stone work.  The bonus lower level was the main entertaining area which also showed off a lot of this custom work and extended out to the ocean view terrace area.

2529 South Coast Highway was also another property that sold for $12,500,000 this year that closed on 5/28/20 while featuring 12 bedrooms and an approximate 8,065 square feet according to our multiple listing service.  This historic home was built in 1921 and is one of the iconic properties found on the ocean front in the Laguna Village area of Laguna Beach.  I've had the opportunity to explore this entire home and was truly impressed by the craftsmanship and historic details you just don't find in newer construction homes.  What impressed me the most was the large grounds the home sits on which is nearly 25,000 square feet according to our title records and the multiple listing service. It appears the buyer got a very good deal on this home since it was originally listed at $27 million and was negotiated down to $12.5 million.

989 Cliff Drive was the second highest sale this year in Laguna Beach and sold $13 million on 10/26/20.  The four bedroom home featured 4,041 square feet was built in 2012 according to multiple listing service. I've had the opportunity to show this home in the past to clients and was really impressed the open floor plan and layout of the home.  It seemed to feature many view points throughout the home that offer wonderful ocean and coastline views.  The location was also unique since it was located directly on the ocean front and just steps to the sandy beach in this upscale area of North Laguna.  Since the home was located near the end of the stretch of beach it also seemed to offer a level of privacy that you always don't get in Laguna Beach.  If you love Spanish and Mediterranean architecture style then this home will probably appeal to you too.

13 Lagunita was the highest sale in 2020 in Laguna Beach which sold for $13,775,000 on 11/24/20.  The four bedroom home offered 6,564 square feet and was built in 2008 according to our multiple listing service.  The home was located in the gated community called Lagunita which is just north of the Montage Resort Hotel in Laguna Beach.  It's probably one of the best kept secrets for finding a home in a gated community since the number of homes located here is much smaller than the larger gated neighborhoods like Emerald Bay and Three Arch Bay.  13 Lagunita featured wonderful vaulted ceilings, quality finishes and arguably some of the best views in all of Laguna Beach.  What I love about this location is the sandy beach directly in front of home that offers the true beach lifestyle in Laguna Beach.
