Most Expensive Homes Sold in 2014

The Laguna Beach Real Estate market was in full swing in 2014 as home sales continued to rise and the luxury home market saw some really big sales this year. The most expensive sale was located at 2675 Riviera Dr which is located in the plush Irvine Cove gated community. The oceanfront estate located on the bluff front on Abalone Point sold for a record $23.6 million on 6/16/2014. The home featured four bedrooms, five baths and 11,722 square feet of three different levels. This was one of many homes that came on the market in the Abalone Point area with one neighboring home marketed for as high as $65 million.
The second highest price home sale was located at 176 Emerald Bay which sold for $15,075,000 on 9/22/2014. This is just shy of last years record of $15,500,000 at 170 Emerald Bay. The five bedroom home was located at almost the end of the Emerald Point cliff and featured sweeping views of the Emerald Bay beach and Laguna Beach coastline. The property spanned over 6,835 square feet and was one of the most highly updated homes I have seen in the section of Emerald Point.
The third highest sale was located right on the beach in the downtown area of Laguna Beach. 990 Ocean Front sold for $11,500,000 on 4/15/2014 and was the highest priced beachfront sale in 2014. This was a stunning contemporary home designed by local architect Mark Singer who built this 3,601 square foot home that features disappearing walls of glass and sleek concrete walls. Newly built in 2014, the home offered all the bells and whistles of a modern estate with complete home automation, professional lighting, saltwater pool and spa as well as parking spaces for up to 6 cars.
Laguna Beach is shaping up to be an incredible year for 2014 with 10 properties listed for sale over $20 million dollars! The most expensive home is still located at 2585 Riviera Dr and is currently listed for $59,900.00 The oceanfront home originally started out $65 million has been the most expensive home on the market for over a year. The 24,000 square foot home feature five bedrooms built in 2010 with stunning Mediterranean architectural design and style.
