Lower Emerald Bay Oceanfront Homes

The Emerald Bay community has two different sections which locals commonly refer to as Lower & Upper Emerald Bay.  The boundaries for these two sides are cleverly divided by the Coast Highway where the entrance to community is found.  Once you pass through the gates and hang to the right you will find the community clubhouse, tennis courts and large park area which are all found in the Upper section of Emerald Bay.  The road eventually leads down to the beach and the Lower Emerald Bay side.  For the most part homes are pretty much the same on both sides except for the ocean front properties.  Lower Emerald Bay features some of the most awe inspiring oceanfront views that can be found anywhere in Laguna Beach.  There are only a handful of these special properties are on the market at any given time and have a history of selling for well over the $15 million dollar price point.  

One of the newest ocean front listings in this area is the home located at 168 Emerald Bay.  The home has a rich history of being bought and sold throughout the years and has once again come back on the market for sale at $19,495,000.  The home first sold back in 2007 for $19 million dollars after being on the market for just 5 days.  This was at the very peak of the real estate bubble that soon crashed in the following years.  The home was then put back on the market in 2012 and ending up selling for $16,000,000.  3 years later in 2015 it was then listed again for $20,995,000 and ended up selling for $17,200,000. Fast forward to February of 2018 when the home is once again offered for sale at $19,495,000 by the luxury real estate agent John McMonigle of the McMonigle Group Corp.
